About Us
The
team here at Ray Johnson Yachts Ltd have been building yachts
both power and sail for over 25 years. We have been privileged
to work on projects like the PACIFIC MERMAID
and the Allan Warwick designed yacht SEA TOY.
Our skill range is suitable for vessels between 50' to 110',
we have built a reputation for building steel boats that don't
look like steel / alloy, what do I mean by that you may ask,
our steel boats are so fair (well formed) that we need very
little fairing compound to provide a high gloss paint finish.
Our boats often get mistaken for FIBREGLASS
this allows you to achieve your dream while maintaining the
the ocean going strength of steel.
Part of
our passion for boat building has come from my early days
as a tradesman tool maker. In this art we are required to
work to extremely exacting tolerances, we have carried this
philosophy over to our boat building, you can see from these
photos we have achieved some awesome results.
We love
to see people fulfil their dreams and as committed yachties
ourselves we understand the need for excellence and
have worked to full Lloyds Survey in the past.
Our goal for the immediate future is to continue building
to the highest standards, we seek to form relationships with
like minded sailors who will settle for nothing but the best
in marine Steel / Alloy construction methods.
As
you can see by the pictures below we pride ourselves on the
level of interior finishing we can achieve and have gained
international recognition for this including being awarded
the New Zealand Boat of the Year in the past.
